Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my Saudization percentage?
Divide the number of Saudi employees by your total headcount and multiply by 100. Example: 12 Saudis out of 40 employees is 12 ÷ 40 × 100 = 30%. Qiwa then adjusts the Saudi count for salary and contract type (for example, a Saudi earning under SAR 4,000 counts as 0.5), and compares the result with the thresholds for your activity and company size.
How is the Nitaqat band calculated?
Your Saudization percentage (Saudi employees ÷ total employees) is compared against thresholds that depend on your ISIC4 activity and total headcount. Most sectors use the logarithmic Nitaqat Mutawar formula: Required % = MAX(0, m × ln(headcount) + c).

Why does my band differ from Qiwa?
This tool gives a headcount-based estimate. The official calculation in Qiwa also applies salary-based credits (e.g. Saudis earning SAR 3,000–3,999 count as 0.5 and below SAR 3,000 as 0), disabled-employee multipliers, and part-time rules.
